Rumble Fish

I saw Rumble Fish last night and it reminded me of several things. 1) S.E. Hinton was an incredible story teller- a woman who wrote young men exceptionally. 2) Francis Ford Coppola made an incredible film with a performance by Mickey Rourke that is absolutely beautiful. 3) I see now where Gus Van Sant gets a lot of his work. The time lapse cityscapes, grates, fire escapes, clouds, and black and white make for a diverse and yet effective vehicle for the story. See it again or for the first time.
