Walking Wounded Furniture & Sundry: Lemon Fossil Desk
I just finished this desk. The table top is Pine and Mahogany. I put a pencil tray in it, but with circular magnets to catch falling paper clips and what nots. I put three windows in it of different sizes and glass. We are going to remove the right side pane to make way for a Meyer Lemon Tree to grow up through the desk. That way, when you're sitting at your computer you can turn and see lemons growing by your head. The shelf is made from old radiators, threaded rod, and epoxy. They look like fish skeletons in amber- like prehistoric fish fossils. I also added steel and brass corner pads to give it a little ink blotter feel. I hope you like it.
Bruce Benderson
I recently had the pleasure of speaking with author, Bruce Benderson, an incredibly erudite and amiable guy.
He was interviewed in Apartamento not too long ago, and if you haven't read it, you should. He's incredibly knowledgeable about design and was nice enough to share some images of his lighting. Enjoy.
